Mr Lisakhanya Ngqasa
Lisakhanya Ngqasa is a passionate oral hygienist who recently earned his Bachelor of Oral Hygiene from the University of the Western Cape in December 2023. During his studies, he received a Certificate of Excellence in Radiography and published applied research titled “Mothers’ Oral Health Knowledge, Practices, and Reported Dental Health Status of Children Attending the Oral Health Centres at the Faculty of Dentistry, UWC.” Lisakhanya also contributed to primary healthcare on the Phelophepa Health Care Train, serving communities in need in Bloemfontein and receiving a Recognition Certificate for his efforts.
With one year of experience in general practice post-qualification, Lisakhanya is dedicated to promoting oral health through education and preventive care. He has a strong interest in cosmetic dentistry, including fillings, teeth whitening, and slimming wires, helping patients achieve both aesthetic and functional results.
Inspired by his grandmother, a retired nurse, Lisakhanya aspired to join the health sciences from a young age. Dentistry appealed to him as a profession that blends healthcare, artistry, and patient interaction. He finds it deeply rewarding to help patients achieve immediate, noticeable improvements in their oral health and confidence.
In his free time, Lisakhanya enjoys hunting, playing video games, and indulging in his passion for cars. His patient-centered philosophy focuses on providing care that prioritizes comfort, education, and overall oral health, ensuring patients feel supported and empowered to take charge of their dental care.
